Purpose

Driver

The Portfolio decides in epics, the teams work in stories; between them someone has to hold one ranked list of features for the whole Charger ART, or every team optimizes its own.

Requirement

A single role that owns the ART backlog — what the train builds next, across both product lines and the platforms.

Description

Product Management turns portfolio epics into features, ranks them for the ART, and defines the content of each PI together with the Business Owners. Kept by Niamh Byrne, who is also the Chief Product Officer — the role sits at FL2 while her title sits at FL3; the two product owners, Product Owner Wallbox and Product Owner DC Charger, split her features into team backlogs.

Concerns

The balance between the two product lines; platform work that no product line asks for but both need; features that cannot ship until a certification or a tooling release lands.

Accountabilities

  • Own and rank the ART feature backlog; present the PI vision at PI planning.
  • Accept features at the system demo.
  • Keep the product roadmap and the ART backlog consistent with the Portfolio.

Decision Rights

  • Ranks features and decides PI content — agrees with the Business Owners.
  • Decides feature acceptance (autonomous).
  • Does not decide team-level story order — the product owners do.

Evaluation

Metrics and Monitoring

  • Feature lead time; share of PI content delivered; features accepted at the system demo without rework.
